Eastern Green is an aroma variety developed and tested in the 1980’s by the Kirin Brewery Co. Ltd. Hop Research Center in Iwate, Japan. It was conceived via an open pollination cross with named parent varietal, Toyomidori. In addition to its high vigor and yield, it is said to have desirable continental-style aroma traits.
